2 1/2-story and high basement house, set above street, originally a pair with 38 Cornell Avenue; rubblestone retaining wall; basement with novelty shingles and round-arch opening; peak and hip roof slopes with peak-roof dormers; bowed window at attic level with complex sash; south elevation with three-sided, angled bay on first story, supporting boxy bay on second story from which projects a two-sided angled oriel supporting projecting gable. Side lot to north (No. 40).
Alterations: Aluminum siding; porch enclosed.
